He returned to Australia in 2011 after spending 15 years working in Europe, with the British Army (Germany), the English Institute of Sport and the Australian Institute of Sport, based at the European Training Centre (Italy).
Michael is Sports Physiotherapist with post-graduate qualifications in Sports Physiotherapy, Manipulative Therapy and Acupuncture. He has extensive experience in rehabilitation programs and has taught on physiotherapy, sports science and advanced nursing courses in Australia and the UK. He is also a certified strength & conditioning
coach and holds coaching qualifications in Rugby League and Triathlon.
As a Sports Physiotherapist, he has worked with many of the world’s best athletes, in a variety of sports over the past 20 years. He has attended numerous international competitions and World Championship events and has been involved in athlete preparation for the last five Olympic Games – he was a Physiotherapist for Team GB at Athens and Beijing.
Michael has been the Team GB National Team physiotherapist for British Diving, Canoe & Kayak, Volleyball, Handball and Boxing and has worked with a number of Australian sports including Triathlon, Tennis, Swimming, Football (soccer), Beach Volleyball and Sailing.
He has also worked with the North Queensland Cowboys in the NRL. Michael is passionate about sport (which includes virtually everything) and is a keen Geelong supporter. He loves food, travel and keeping fit. He enjoys watching his three grown-up children play
soccer.
